Power Scuba, in association with the West Coast Tavern, presents a mixer and very special screening of the Oscar-winning film, "The Cove" on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 5:00pm. This event will be held at the West Coast Tavern and Birch North Park Theatre at 2891 University Avenue, San Diego, CA 92104 and admission is FREE!

Lineup:
5:00 pm: Cocktail Mixer and Q&A with Celebrity Guest, Kelly Hu

While this is an all ages event, the film is rated PG-13 and some images may be disturbing to younger children.

Distinguished by literally dozens of awards and nominations, this movie has developed a cult following of ocean and animal lovers as well as
environmental conservationists worldwide. Full of adventure, covert investigative journalism, provocative imagery, celebrity activism, and espionage this film is sure to capture your attention and heart. It chronicles Rick O'Barry's life work with dolphins and his transition from Flipper's trainer to dolphin protector. A team of freedivers, activists and filmmakers join Rick to expose the horrific dolphin slaughter in Taiji and bring this story to the world with a strong but gentle reminder of our impact on this planet that we share. To recognize Rick O'Barry's contribution to dolphin conservation, in 1991 OʼBarry received the 'Environmental Achievement Award' presented by the United States Committee for the United Nations Environmental Program (US/UNEP). Come and prepare to be inspired! www.thecovemovie.com/

Joining this event is Hollywood Actress Kelly Hu. Kelly Hu is a former Miss Teen USA who has had roles in The Scorpion King, X-Men 2, The Vampire Diaries, and many other movies and television shows spanning her 23 year acting career. She will be hosting a Q&A session at 7:00pm, immediately prior to the screening.

Following the movie screening, Craig Tsuyumine, of Save Japan Dolphins, will be making a short presentation and offering some time for Q&A for those particularly moved to learn more about the tragedy at Taiji. www.SaveJapanDolphins.com
